It’s been about a month since the royal baby Prince George was born and subsequently the same amount of time since the world has seen pics of the royal bundle of joy but that has now changed. His parents Prince William and Kate Middleton today released two family photos taken by Kate’s father Michael Middleton in early August at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire. In the first picture William stands next to wife Kate who is holding baby George and in the second picture the happy family is joined by their cocker spaniel Lupo.  The first official family photos come on the heels of Will’s first TV interview since Prince George was born. In his interview with CNN’s Max Foster, Prince William said; “I think the last few weeks for me have been just a very different emotional experience, something I never thought I would feel myself. And I find, again it’s only been a short period, but a lot of things affect me differently now.”

The day that millions of people all around the world have been waiting for is finally here. Kate Middleton gave birth to a baby boy today at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. The baby boy whose name has not been released yet was born at 4:24 p.m. London time and weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz. Middleton arrived at the hospital at 6 a.m. local time after going into labor and was of course accompanied by Prince William who was by her side every step of the way. The two entered the hospital through a side door and were driven from Kensington Palace via a two-car convoy. Upon news of the royal baby’s birth being released, statements were also made saying; “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight. “The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are delighted at the news.”  Meanwhile new grandpa Prince Charles made this statement; “Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. It’s highly likely that the first glimpse the world gets of Kate and Will’s baby will be right outside the hospital, which is where Will also made his debut in his mother’s arms. So now the world will be waiting with baited breath for the name of little royal to be released and the first pictures of the happy family of three.

As Kate Middleton’s due date rapidly approaches, information about the hospital where the Duchess will be giving birth is starting to be revealed including details of the birthing suit and hospital security. Kate will be delivering the royal heir at St. Mary’s Hospital, the maternity facility is a favorite of many royals, and more specifically in the Lindo Wing of the hospital where Prince William and Harry were delivered. According to the hospital’s official website, in each room of the Lindo Wing there is a satellite TV, a radio, a safe, bedside phone, Internet access and a fridge. A dedicated hotel services team provides an extensive and nutritious menu, catering to each individual’s dietary requirements. The Lindo Wing assures patients “total peace of mind” based on their expert team of obstetric, neonatal and anesthetist care professionals. According to the U.K’s Sun, a fresh bouquet of flowers will be delivered to Kate’s suite every day and blackout curtains will ensure privacy. For extra security and privacy, just today police have been doing a massive sweep of the facilities this morning to ensure that the Duke and Duchess have the utmost privacy and care.  And when the little royal finally arrives, an announcement will be made to the public and a notice placed on the gates of Buckingham palace will reveal the baby’s gender. It might, however, be a few days before the baby’s name is revealed. Royal sources confirm that Prince William is expected to be right by his wife’s side through the delivery process and will take a statutory paternity leave before returning to his chopper search-and-rescue duties.

Looks like the future royal parents-to-be are enjoying a little R&R. Reports state that Kate and Prince William are enjoying a vacation on the island of Mustique. The royal couple supposedly left Monday for their tropical vacation after Will wrapped his weekend shift at work. Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, have also reportedly joined the duo but are staying in a separate home on the Caribbean island. An insider told UK’s The Sun, “Both William and Kate were hoping her condition would not stop her from making the eight-hour flight to Barbados and the connection to Mustique. A month ago such a journey would have been unthinkable for her, so this is a clear sign she has made a virtual recovery.”
