Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Solange have issued a joint statement regarding the heated elevator fight between Solange and Jay-Z that occurred on the night of the 2014 Met Gala. The statement reads, “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.” The reason for the fight has also been revealed. It turns out that Jay-Z may have gotten a little too close with designer Rachel Roy who is the ex-wife of Jay’s business partner Diamond Dash. Reportedly Rachel Roy was being flirtatious with Jay at the gala and her flirtations only increased when they all got to the after-party. According to reports, Beyoncé approached Roy to let her know that her behavior was disrespectful and then Solange joined the two which is where things got heated between Rachel and Solange. Additionally, Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down which is what caused the fight in the elevator.
Beyoncé’s Sister Solange Reportedly Physically Attacks Jay-Z
Elevator surveillance footage hit the web yesterday after being leaked by TMZ that shows what appears to be Beyoncé’s little sister Solange throwing punches and high-heeled kicks at her brother-in-law Jay-Z. The attack which was reportedly recorded on May 5th at the Standard Hotel after the 2014 Met Gala shows a large man, supposedly a bodyguard, attempting to restrain an aggravated woman, purported to be Solange, from attacking a man wearing a white tux, supposedly Jay-Z. While all this is going down, the fourth person in the elevator who is reported to be Beyoncé for the most part stands there and does nothing to intervene. The four eventually get out of the elevator and leave the hotel where photographers capture them leaving the hotel with Beyoncé and Solange getting in one car and Jay-Z in another. One of the rumors circulating for the reason behind the fight is that Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange. Despite all this drama, the sisters left for Costa Rica just three days after the attack for a get-together involving Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Then Bey was back in New York on Saturday where she was court-side with her hubby for a Nets-Heat game. And on Sunday the couple enjoyed a Mother’s Day brunch with their daughter Blue Ivy and later that night had a dinner date. Additionally, in the wake of all this drama, Solange has deleted all but one of the pictures of her sister on her Instagram and Bey and Jay have added more dates to their tour.
Baby No. 2 For Beyonce and Jay-Z!
Looks like Blue Ivy is going to be a big sister! After rampant speculation that was amped up even more when Beyonce was forced to cancel her concert in Antwerp, Belgium, sources confirm that Mrs. Carter is pregnant with her second child. Although Beyonce’s doctors advised her to rest “as a result of dehydration and exhaustion” the remainder of her Mrs’ Carter Show tour is not expected to be impacted by the pregnancy which is currently making its way through Europe and will continue here in the U.S in June. The singing superstar seemed to have hinted at the possibility of being pregnant when she recently spoke out about giving 1-year-old Blue Ivy a sibling, telling ABC News that she “would like more children” and explaining that she thinks her daughter “needs some company.” That company will soon be arriving in a few months time. No word yet on how far along Beyonce is.
