EXO’s Kris Suing SM Entertainment and Seeking to Terminate his Contract

EXO’s Kris has decided to sue SM Entertainment for violating human rights and wishes to terminate his contract with the company. The news was first reported through Chinese media outlets, with SM confirming that Kris filed a lawsuit at Seoul Central Court.

Images of Kris’s submission to the court have been circulating and it has been confirmed that lawyer Cho Bum Suk representing him is the same one that represented former Super Junior member, Hangeng. Hangeng left the group in 2011 after filing a lawsuit against SM.

Many rumors are now circulating as fans have pointed out that the other EXO members have stopped following Kris on social media outlets. As of now, only Baekhyun is still following Kris on Instagram. Chanyeol and Sehun have recently updated their Instagrams and many believe it is in response with Kris’s decision.

During an interview with OSEN, EXO-K leader Suho told OSEN, “All the members had a conversation. We don’t understand Kris’ actions at all. Everyone was caught off-guard and have mixed feelings.

Many fans are also speculating that his speech during the group’s win for “Overdose” today on “M!Countdown” was hinting at the current situation.

EXO “Overdose” Is an All Kill

EXO’s comeback song “Overdose” has been topping the charts and its music video has been garnering over 10 million views collectively since it was released last week. EXO is split into EXO-M who promotes in China and sings the song in Mandarin, while EXO-K promotes the song in South Korea, singing in their native language.

Their comeback was delayed due to the Sewol Ferry incident, along with many other groups and soloists. However, EXO seems to be unstoppable in gaining popularity and success with last year’s “Growl,” which peaked at the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 at #3. EXO-K’s “Overdose” MV has surpassed 7 million views while EXO-M’s MV is catching up with over 3 million views.
