Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Solange Issue Joint Statement

Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Solange have issued a joint statement regarding the heated elevator fight between Solange and Jay-Z that occurred on the night of the 2014 Met Gala. The statement reads, “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.” The reason for the fight has also been revealed. It turns out that Jay-Z may have gotten a little too close with designer Rachel Roy who is the ex-wife of Jay’s business partner Diamond Dash. Reportedly Rachel Roy was being flirtatious with Jay at the gala and her flirtations only increased when they all got to the after-party. According to reports, Beyoncé approached Roy to let her know that her behavior was disrespectful and then Solange joined the two which is where things got heated between Rachel and Solange. Additionally, Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down which is what caused the fight in the elevator.

Elevator surveillance footage hit the web yesterday after being leaked by TMZ that shows what appears to be Beyoncé’s little sister Solange throwing punches and high-heeled kicks at her brother-in-law Jay-Z. The attack which was reportedly recorded on May 5th at the Standard Hotel after the 2014 Met Gala shows a large man, supposedly a bodyguard, attempting to restrain an aggravated woman, purported to be Solange, from attacking a man wearing a white tux, supposedly Jay-Z. While all this is going down, the fourth person in the elevator who is reported to be Beyoncé for the most part stands there and does nothing to intervene. The four eventually get out of the elevator and leave the hotel where photographers capture them leaving the hotel with Beyoncé and Solange getting in one car and Jay-Z in another. One of the rumors circulating for the reason behind the fight is that Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange. Despite all this drama, the sisters left for Costa Rica just three days after the attack for a get-together involving Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Then Bey was back in New York on Saturday where she was court-side with her hubby for a Nets-Heat game. And on Sunday the couple enjoyed a Mother’s Day brunch with their daughter Blue Ivy and later that night had a dinner date. Additionally, in the wake of all this drama, Solange has deleted all but one of the pictures of her sister on her Instagram and Bey and Jay have added more dates to their tour.

Beyonce Drops Surprise New Album

Beyonce Drops Surprise New Album

Late last night, Beyonce surprised fans and millions around the world by dropping a brand new album exclusively on iTunes. This comes as a complete shock seeing as there was zero promotion for the album. The album, which is self-titled, is a visual album so besides 14 new songs the album also features 17 brand new music videos. Collaborations on the album include Bey’s hubby Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Drake, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, and very special guest, Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy. In a video released on Facebook about the album, Beyonce said “I see music as more than just what I hear,” she says in the clip. “When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies and they’re all connected to the music. And I think that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to do a visual album.”

Looks like Blue Ivy is going to be a big sister! After rampant speculation that was amped up even more when Beyonce was forced to cancel her concert in Antwerp, Belgium, sources confirm that Mrs. Carter is pregnant with her second child. Although Beyonce’s doctors advised her to rest “as a result of dehydration and exhaustion” the remainder of her Mrs’ Carter Show tour is not expected to be impacted by the pregnancy which is currently making its way through Europe and will continue here in the U.S in June. The singing superstar seemed to have hinted at the possibility of being pregnant when she recently spoke out about giving 1-year-old Blue Ivy a sibling, telling ABC News that she “would like more children” and explaining that she thinks her daughter “needs some company.” That company will soon be arriving in a few months time. No word yet on how far along Beyonce is.

Last night officially marked the end of Beyonce’s maternity leave from showbiz as the music superstar returned to the stage for the first time since giving birth. For three nights only, this Memorial Day weekend, Beyonce will be performing for the grand opening of Atlantic City’s Revel Casino and Hotel. In a behind-the-scenes video chronicling her concert return Beyonce shared “I’m enjoying being a mother. It’s like going back to my old job; it’s a little strange, but it’s important that you don’t lose yourself and you still have your own passions. And I’m back to work, I’m back to business.” The video goes on to share her prep work in which she struggles through her first vocal warm-ups and choreography sessions in months.

Even though Beyonce said she was nervous she showed no signs of it last night. She hit the stage and rocked barely-there outfits that showed off the new mom’s figure a mere six months after giving birth to daughter, Blue Ivy. And when addressing the crowd she stated “I gotta say, it feels so good to be back home on stage.” During the show, Beyonce sang a variety of her hits including “Single Ladies”, “Crazy In Love” and “Love on Top.” She even performed two tributes for Whitney Houston with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You” and for Donna Summer with “Naughty Girl.”

Beyonce! People magazine has awarded this honor to the new mom. Beyonce gives all the credit to her hubby Jay-Z and their baby girl Blue Ivy. In the magazine Beyonce explains that she now feels more beautiful than ever since she has given birth and feels that she has never felt like she had such a purpose on this earth more than being a mother. Awww how adorable and I couldn’t agree more with this decision.
