Protests Continue Against Lady Gaga

2014 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala Honoring Carole King - Arrivals

Just days after the pop superstar was banned from performing in Indonesia as a result of Islamic protests over her risque persona, the singer was threatened by another religious group this time in the Philippines. A rally was organized by several Christian youths in the hopes of getting Gaga’s concerts cancelled that are scheduled for next week in Pasay City. The Christian group called Biblemode Youth Philippines has a particular problem with Gaga’s song “Judas” which they believe mocks Jesus Christ. Despite all these efforts, the show must go on. Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto spoke out and in a statement issued this warning, “Although we respect artistic and musical expressions, I won’t allow anyone or any group to provide acts which may be questionable in a way at any venue under my jurisdiction. We reminded the producers of Lady Gaga’s concert that the show and the event as a whole shall not exhibit any nudity or lewd contact which may be offensive to morals and good customs.” Lady Gaga’s tour production team assures that the show will not be a threat to the public’s sense of morality and conduct.
