Last night officially marked the end of Beyonce’s maternity leave from showbiz as the music superstar returned to the stage for the first time since giving birth. For three nights only, this Memorial Day weekend, Beyonce will be performing for the grand opening of Atlantic City’s Revel Casino and Hotel. In a behind-the-scenes video chronicling her concert return Beyonce shared “I’m enjoying being a mother. It’s like going back to my old job; it’s a little strange, but it’s important that you don’t lose yourself and you still have your own passions. And I’m back to work, I’m back to business.” The video goes on to share her prep work in which she struggles through her first vocal warm-ups and choreography sessions in months.
Even though Beyonce said she was nervous she showed no signs of it last night. She hit the stage and rocked barely-there outfits that showed off the new mom’s figure a mere six months after giving birth to daughter, Blue Ivy. And when addressing the crowd she stated “I gotta say, it feels so good to be back home on stage.” During the show, Beyonce sang a variety of her hits including “Single Ladies”, “Crazy In Love” and “Love on Top.” She even performed two tributes for Whitney Houston with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You” and for Donna Summer with “Naughty Girl.”
