According to Variety, 26 year old British actor Sam Claflin is the frontrunner to play the ridiculously handsome and trident-wielding tribute. Claflin aka Prince William from this summer’s Snow White and the Huntsman may soon be recieving an offer from Lionsgate. But of course the studio refuses to comment on any casting rumors. In other casting news, it seems that the roles of Mags and Beetee may also soon be filled while the role of Wiress has officially been cast to be played by Amanda Plummer. Rumors state that Melissa Leo is wanted for the role of Finnick’s mentor Mags while Tony Shaloub is being eyed for Beetee, the crafty bomb maker.
