American Idol Judges Update

American Idol Judges Update

Once again it’s time to discuss the rumors surrounding filling the judges table over on American Idol. The most recent rumor states that Latin singer Enrique Iglesias has been offered a spot as a judge. According to EW.com the singer-songwriter has received an offer of around $4 million per year to become one of four judges on the panel. Fox had no comment on the reported deal with Iglesias. With Iglesias seemingly locked, the status of Nicki Minaj is still up in the air. When speaking to E! News last night on the MTV VMA carpet, Nicki coyly responded; “I don’t know yet. I really don’t know. I have no comment on it. Everything in my life, every answer in my life, every opportunity is always my decision.” Keep checking back for updates on American Idol judges casting.

Randy Jackson’s American Idol Drama

"Land of the Lost" American Premiere - Arrivals

After 11 seasons and being the only original judge standing Randy Jackson’s future on American Idol is still up in the air. Rumors began circulating awhile ago that Jackson would leave the judge’s table in order to become a mentor to the contestants but his future isn’t concrete quite yet. The final decision won’t be made until the new season 12 judges are in place. A source tells E! News “Negotiations are still in progress and nothing has been decided yet. If he chooses to stay Randy is mulling over what he would like his role to be on the show. This will all be resolved hopefully very soon.” With all this chaos surrounding American Idol judges producer Nigel Lythgoe is considering having one-year judges instead of signing them to multi-season deals.

First up is a Jersey Shore marathon followed by a one-hour retrospective special titled “Gym, Tan, Look Back” on Sept. 6 before the Video Music Awards. Lastly, the cast will be part of the VMA’s preshow to talk about the final season. But not to worry you can still get your weekly dose of Snooki and JWoww since their spin-off has already been given the green-light for a second season.

The final All-Star to be joining Dancing With The Stars will be Sabrina Bryan. The 27 year old made the big reveal on Good Morning America this morning beating out Carson Kressley and fellow Disney alum Kyle Massey. This time around she’ll be paired with Louis Van Amstel who takes over partnering duties from Mark Ballas who was her partner back in season five of DWTS. Maybe this time around Sabrina will be able to redeem herself after getting an early boot despite receiving a perfect score. Dancing With The Stars returns on Sept. 24 on ABC.

Mariah spoke to reporters via speakerphone at the TV Critics Association press tour where Reilly made the annoucement, saying: “I am so excited to be joining Idol. I wish I could have been there myself to tell you. It all kind of just happened real quickly. I can’t wait to get started in a couple months…I will see you in January!” Concerning the other two judges, Reilly also spoke out about their statuses. In regards to Randy Jackson, Reilly stated, “Randy has been working with Mariah for a long, long time and is in fact her co-manager. Randy was very instrumental in this deal.” Seems like Mr. Jackson will remain a judge, no?
