Cory and Topanga Are Back! for Girl Meets World

ABC's 50th Anniversary All-Star Party

The first official casting news for Disney Channel’s new pilot Girl Meets World has been announced and it’s likely to be the most crucial of them all. Boy Meets World’s Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have officially signed on to reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga. E! News got this statement from a Disney Channel rep: “We can confirm that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will reprise their hugely popular roles of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, this time as a happily married couple and parents to 13-year-old Riley, from whose point of view the story is told. The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs, Emmy Award-winning creator/producer behind Boy Meets World, My Two Dads and Charles In Charge, among others. A nationwide casting search is underway for the starring role of Riley Matthews.” Danielle Fishel posted a thank you to fans of the original series on her Tumblr page, saying, “First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome. That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.” As for other original castmembers’ returning for the series’ reboot, Fishel says, “I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear.” Which original castmembers would you like to see reprise their role?

It seems like Nicki Minaj is having a hard time adjusting to being a new judge on American Idol. But this time Minaj’s beef isn’t with any of the current judges but rather with recently ousted judge, Steven Tyler. Minaj took to Twitter to share her less than kind thoughts about Tyler who she believes to have made a racist remark against her. In an interview with MTV, Tyler slammed the new judges on the show stating “You just have to give your opinion. It wasn’t hard for me, but I would imagine it’s hard for some people, and they need a manager to say ‘Shut the f— up, and just give them your opinion. “These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them]. If it was Bob Dylan  Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.” Minaj’s response? “Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet. I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f–k yourself and worry about yourself babe.” Minaj later tweeted, “LOL lets make him a shirt that says “No Coloreds Allowed” then escort him down 2 Barbara Walters so he can tell how he was threatened w/guns. When Steven 1st went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers & fans alike. Called a sell out. So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge.” Tyler hasn’t responded to any of Nicki’s tweets and Fox had no comment on the matter.

American Idol Drama: Nicki vs Mariah

American Idol Drama Nicki vs Mariah3

Looks like it’s a battle of the divas over on American Idol. A video is making its rounds on the Internet showcasing Minaj having it out with Mariah Carey. In the video shot Tuesday during auditions in Charlotte, N.C., Nicki clad in head-to-toe pink can be heard yelling “If you’ve got a f–king problem, handle it!” The video which was obtained by TMZ also reported that Nicki leater threatened to “knock [Carey] out.” The video continues with Nicki turning to Mariah and saying “I told them, I’m not putting up with her f–king highness over here” meanwhile Keith Urban who was sitting in between them tries to calm the hip-hop singer down. On the other hand Randy Jackson who was sitting on Carey’s other side didn’t seem to get involved. Idol producer FremantleMedia had nothing to say about the reported drama, and reps for all three new judges have not responded to requests for comment. But an Idol source did speak out to E! News  stating; “This is the sort of thing producers considered might happen when they cast Nikki opposite Mariah, but not this bad and not this fast. They have to protect Mariah to make sure she doesn’t walk. After everything it took to get that panel in place, they need everyone, especially Mariah. She was their first choice.”  As for Minaj’s threat towards Carey the source adds, “Physical threats are taken seriously and [show producers and Fox execs] are still deciding how to handle. It’s not an easy call.”

The Voice Gets Two New Coaches

The Voice Gets Two New Coaches
Although The Voice is one of the newer reality singing competitions, that doesn’t mean its too early to start shaking things up. The hit NBC reality show announced that Usher and Shakira will replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera as coaches when the series returns next spring for its fourth cycle. But fans of the original coaches need not worry, Robert Greenblatt chairman of NBC Entertainment has assured that they will be back. In a statement Greenblatt said; “Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and Cee Lo. The participants on our show benefit from our coaches’ expertise and their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return.” Basically Christina and Cee Lo have prior commitments they need to fulfill so Usher and Shakira will take over for the fourth cycle until Xtina and Cee Lo return for cycle five. What do you think of this temporary replacement?

Randy Jackson Back on American Idol

"Land of the Lost" American Premiere - Arrivals

Looks like the only remaining original judge will be sticking around on American Idol. Randy Jackson is reportedly is nearing a deal to return as a judge for season 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jackson will supposedly be taking the spot that was meant to go to Latin singer Enrique Iglesias. Since Idol decided to re-vamp its judging table, Jackson’s future up until now had been up in the air with rumors claiming he would be returning as a mentor but now it seems as if he’ll be joining Mariah Carey and…Nicki Minaj? Keith Urban? There are still some judging seats to be filled. Fox has no comment on the rumors that Randy Jackson is signing on to return.
